KPO commits to arts development of Burlinskyi District

AKSAI, Western Kazakhstan Oblast, 17 May 2012 – Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V (KPO) has donated a grand piano to the Children’s Music School of Burlinskyi District located in Aksai. The project was implemented as part of KPO Sponsorship Programme. The ceremony was attended by the representatives of Burlinskyi District Akimat, Education Department, local media, parents, as well as employees of the KPO Sustainability Department.

Nurmukhanova Zhanna, Principal of the school, said: “We had already been aware of KPO’s numerous initiatives in the sphere of youth development, when we approached the company with the request to donate the instrument. Luckily our hopes were not disappointed and our school received this wonderful gift». The Director also mentioned that as part of KPO’s sponsorship programme, 16 violins were donated to the school in 2009.

Under the crowd’s cheers the ribbon around the brand new concert grand piano was solemnly cut. The ceremony was followed by live music performed by the school’s alumni, teachers and students.

On the whole, in 2011 KPO implemented over 45 sponsorship projects in the fields of healthcare, sports, education, and culture.
