KPO RECEIVES “PARYZ” AWARD AS THE “BEST SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE COMPANY”

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, 23 December 2008 - At the annual ceremony of Paryz Award which took place on 23 December 2008 in Astana, KPO has received the Bronze "Paryz" Award in the category of the Best Socially Responsible Business. From over 250 companies competing in three nominations, KPO was named the third best large company in Kazakhstan in terms of commitment to its employees, community and the society as a whole.

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, 23 December 2008 - At the annual ceremony of Paryz Award which took place on 23 December 2008 in Astana, KPO has received the Bronze "Paryz" Award in the category of the Best Socially Responsible Business.  From over 250 companies competing in three nominations, KPO was named the third best large company in Kazakhstan in terms of commitment to its employees, community and the society as a whole.

During the exhibition that preceded the ceremony, the secondary school № 34 in Uralsk was presented to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev as one of the KPO's Social Projects implemented recently.  He was briefed on the details of the project including the fact that the school was the largest secondary school in WKO, that it was designed and constructed entirely by Kazakh contractors, furnished with modern equipment and allows for a wide range of academic and sports activities.

The President was impressed by the school model and expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the project.  Later on, during his key note address, he called the projects presented to him as examples of social responsibility, goodwill and outreach in support of the most vulnerable groups of the society.  He thanked all business leaders in the attendance and called upon the national business community to demonstrate their maturity and support their employees and local communities in these harsh times.
