Sustainable Development is an integral part of the way KPO does business in Kazakhstan. Our partnership with the Republic of Kazakhstan enables us to align our business with the Government’s objective to promote the Country’s sustainable growth by developing its natural resources.
KPO’s contribution to sustainable development is focussed on maintaining world class health, safety and environmental practices, applying robust corporate governance principles, adopting best technologies in our operations, and enhancing our programmes for nationalisation, local content and contributions to development of social infrastructure and the Western Kazakhstan regional economy. Our commitment to sustainable development is defined in KPO Sustainability Charter.
KPO 2012 Sustainability Report targets our stakeholders consisting of our Parent Companies, government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, our employees, local communities, counterparties, business partners, media and civil society. This report presents information about our performance in 2012 and progress against the set targets in 2011. New targets for 2013 have been also defined in the report.
2012 Report has been produced in line with the Global Reporting Initiative’s G3 guidelines, the de facto global model for sustainability reporting. We are pleased that in 2012 we had been able to achieve a B+ application level of information disclosure.
