Working meeting in support of local agricultural producers of West Kazakhstan Oblast

A working meeting devoted to issues of cooperation in support of local agricultural producers was held on 10 of October of the current year in the building of the Akimat of West Kazakhstan Oblast. The meeting was chaired by K.Sh. Aitmukhambetov, WKO Deputy Akim, and M.N. Mankeyev, KPO Vice General Director. KPO major business partners, SEC «AQJAIYQ» JSC and leading agricultural producers of the region also participated in the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the further implementation of the provisions of the previously signed «Memorandum of mutual cooperation in support of local agricultural producers», concluded between the Akimat of West Kazakhstan Oblast and KPO within the working visit of T.K. Duissenova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in WKO.

During the official part of the working meeting M.N. Mankeyev, KPO Vice General Director, in his welcoming speech said that KPO organized this meeting with the aim of creating a platform for interaction between agricultural producers and the company’s main business partners. He also stressed that KPO contractors have major contracts for the provision of catering services which include meals provision for more than 10,000 people on a daily basis.

«The involvement of local agricultural producers in these processes creates significant opportunities for increasing the incomes of the rural population through the development of small businesses in rural areas.

We set the task for our contracting companies to directly cooperate with agricultural producers of the region, which will increase local content and ensure the supply of quality products for the Karachaganak needs», said M.N. Mankeyev.

He also added that KPO will continue this work on a permanent basis, giving priority to the development and support of local producers. «We are confident that such initiatives will contribute not only to strengthening the agricultural sector, but also to improving the general welfare of West Kazakhstan Oblast», concluded Vice General Director.

During B2B meetings, major KPO business partners provided explanations of the standards required for food suppliers, and also exchanged contacts in order to create additional opportunities for long-term partnership.

As a result of the meeting, LIGABUE CENTRAL ASIA LLP signed an Amendment with Kaverin IE for the supply of dairy products, as well as memorandums of understanding with the main enterprises for the production and processing of agricultural products. KPO major business partner, KKS-SICHIM LLP, also signed a memorandum of understanding to support local agricultural producers and cooperate with a meat product manufacturer.

Signed agreements and memorandums of understanding open up new ways to strengthen ties and create conditions for the active involvement of agricultural producers in supplying products for the Karachaganak project. KPO confirms its commitment to continue working in this direction, supporting the initiatives of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the development of West Kazakhstan Oblast.
