Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, June 11, 2026 – Representatives of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) participated in a business meeting with members of the Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Council “PetroCouncil”.
The event served as an open platform for professional dialogue and the exchange of views between KPO management and representatives of the oil and gas business community.
During the meeting, KPO General Director Marco Marsili delivered a welcome address, emphasizing that the development of local content remains one of the company’s key priorities. He noted a significant increase in the share of local content within the goods category, rising from 7% in 2022 to 18% in 2025. According to him, this positive trend is also reflected in procurement volumes: total expenditure on locally sourced goods reached USD 55 million in 2025, compared to USD 17 million in 2022.
In turn, Vice General Director Mukhtar Mankeyev highlighted that the company's top priorities remain the localization of goods, including those used under service contracts, as well as continuous enhancement of the local content information platform and the implementation of a mandatory package of goods, works, and services during contract scope development. Furthermore, KPO plans to increase the weighting of local content indicators in the evaluation of tender submissions.
The program also included a Q&A session with KPO management covering key areas of the company's operations, including:
local content development and localization issues;
procurement procedures and tendering at KPO.
Meeting participants had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss current aspects of cooperation, and put forward proposals for further partnership development.
Following the business session, an open networking event was held, enabling “PetroCouncil” members and KPO representatives to establish new business contacts, strengthen cooperation, and discuss prospective projects in an informal setting.
