KPO held business forum in Karaganda oblast

KARAGANDA, Republic of Kazakhstan, 9 December, 2015 — Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) together with the Karaganda Oblast Akimat held a forum for the regional enterprises.

The main objective of the event was to familiarize the participants with the KPO local content development strategy, upcoming projects and procurement plans including the company’s requirements to the suppliers of goods and services in accordance with KPO standards.

The forum was attended by the representatives of the regional machine engineering enterprises, manufacturers of metal structures and tube works, electrical and cable products, construction materials.

Also, KPO provided information on company’s procurement plans considering the specifics of production of companies from Karaganda Oblast participating in the forum.

During the forum, KPO delegation held a meeting with Karaganda Oblast Akim, at which the parties emphasized the significance of establishing business relationships between KPO and manufacturers of Karaganda Oblast.

Renato Maroli, KPO General Director, welcoming the participants, said: “KPO and the contracting companies take very seriously and support the RoK Government’s intention to create production and service clusters, joint ventures, and to establish its own production capacities relating to the Karachaganak field development”.

“We welcome every opportunity to expand the list of our business partners and are looking forward to establishing new mutually beneficial relationships”, he noted.

“I hope that this forum will serve a good platform for establishing direct contacts and discussing all your issues with key representatives of KPO Contracts and Procurement Department, as well as Local Content Development Department”, added Renato Maroli.

As part of the event, KPO representatives visited a number of production facilities in Karaganda oblast and responded to the questions raised by the forum participants. In addition, the participants of the event discussed the KPO’s Local Content Strategy and activities of the Contracts and Procurement Department as well as vendors’ database registration procedure, the process of preliminary evaluation of vendors’ qualification and tendering requirements.

More than 3600 Kazakhstani vendors are currently registered on KPO supplier database. Since signing the FPSA in 1997, the total value of goods, works and services supplied by Kazakhstani companies has exceeded $5.3 billion.
