AKSAI, West Kazakhstan oblast, 27 June, 2019 – A delegation of the KAZENERGY Women Energy Club visited the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field and held a working meeting with top management of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO).

During the visit, the delegates from the KAZENERGY Women Energy Club were acquainted with the Karachaganak project development and operational activities of KPO and visited several KPO facilities.

As Edwin Blom, KPO General Director, noted in his welcoming speech, women working in the company play a significant role in all business activities.

“KPO is a very diverse company, we host many nationalities and our shareholders operate in many different parts of the globe. Diversity helps us to outperform and women empowerment is one of the ways for us to drive diversity”, added Edwin Blom.

As it was noted during the visit, in May 2019 KPO launched the Women Network serving as a platform for exchanging experiences, encouraging development, acquiring new knowledge through interaction and cooperation aimed at enhancing internal capacities of KPO female professionals.

As part of the visit, the delegates of the KAZENERGY Women Energy Club held a meeting of the Executive Committee to discuss development of research on the role of women in the RoK energy sector, implementation of the Digital Mentoring Project as well as issues relating to the IV Forum "Modern Image of Women's Leadership in the Energy Sector" to be held on 25 September within the framework of Kazakhstan Energy Week -2019.

In the end, the guests thanked KPO for high level of organization and interesting programme of the visit and wished all KPO employees a continued success in development of the Karachaganak field.
