AKSAI, West Kazakhstan Oblast, 23 May 2022 — Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) announced the launch of a professional training programme for electrical technicians and instrumentation technicians. Based on the selection results, a group of 24 people including recent graduates of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was formed to participate in the programme.
The programme launch ceremony was attended by representatives of KPO senior management including Human Resources Controller, Slushash Izbassarova, Field Manager, Carl Schmitz and Unit-2 Manager Yerzhan Kanatov. They congratulated the students on the start of the learning process and wished them success in achieving high academic results.
As Slushash Izbassarova, KPO Human Resources Controller, noted, «This professional training programme allows to obtain the necessary technical knowledge and skills that meet the requirements of the KPO Operations and Maintenance Departments. Thanks to special theoretical and practical training and practical experience gained in the workplace, programme participants acquire the necessary knowledge for further successful work in the company.»
The training programme for young specialists based on the international standards of the OPITO Oil and Gas Academy has been successfully implemented at KPO for 14 years. Within the framework of this programme, more than 500 production operators and equipment maintenance technicians have already been trained and are now fruitfully working at the company’s production facilities.
Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. is one of the largest employers in the West Kazakhstan region. In general, over the past twenty-five years, KPO has invested more than $200 million in capacity building and qualification development of Kazakhstani employees. Today, the share of Kazakhstani employees in KPO is 98 per cent of the total number of technical staff and supervisors, and 85 per cent of the number of managers.
