Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO provides support to Burlin District Hospital and Uralsk Infection Hospital with medical equipment and materials required for the testing and treatment of COVID-19 infected patients.
In Aksai, the hospital has received a state-of-the art intensive care equipment including artificial lung ventilation apparatuses and personal protective equipment. KPO will additionally procure thermal cameras, PCR analysis equipment and test systems, quick test sets for COVID-19, bedside monitors, electrocardiography units, syringe pumps, lab testers and other infection control equipment as well as two ambulances.
The intensive care sets include bedside monitors, infusion pumps, blood tester as well as resuscitation equipment. The local medical staff have already been trained to use this equipment. Earlier on, KPO donated PPE sets including medical masks, protective overalls, glasses and gloves for medical staff who work at the forefront and face the risk of being infected. This protective equipment is very important for improving quality of services provided by the hospital and safety of medical personnel who work directly with patients.
All the donated specialist equipment has the required certificates of conformance and meets modern quality and safety standards.
During the early days of the lockdown, KPO also helped the district authorities with setting up checkpoints and patrolling the area to enforce the quarantine regime.
In addition to this, KPO donated funds the WKO Public Charity “Birgemiz-Oral” to support the most vulnerable groups of community affected by the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, KPO has all the required resources, experience and capabilities to ensure that quarantine regime is duly followed in line with the requirements of the RoK health authorities. The Company will continue supporting local authorities to obtain the required materials and equipment to control the spread of COVID-19 and treat the of confirmed cases.
