KIO SPONSORS OFFICE ADMINISTRATION TRAINING IN KAZAKH LANGUAGE, 02.04.2003

URALSK, Western Kazakhstan Oblast, 2 April 2003 -- More than 60 state officials from Western Kazakhstan attended a training seminar on office administration in the Kazakh language.

The course was organised by the language development department of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Public Consent (MCIPC), with a sponsorship from Karachaganak Integrated Organisation (KIO).

This educational initiative was endorsed by the WKO Akimat and the Oblast Directorate of Information and Public Consent. Both state officials and the mass media in Western Kazakhstan expressed a major interest in the seminar.

Deputy WKO Akim Tabylgali Saparov said: "It was a very timely event and it has helped to promote the professional growth of the state officials of the Oblast".

The seminar participants were taught the terminology used in the state and public administration process and representatives of the RoK President's Administration, Parliament, MCIPC and Oblast Akimat provided presentations on the practical use of the Kazakh language in their work.

Those attending the seminar paid special attention to translation techiques, the use of dictionaries and of specialised software on learning the Kazakh language. All attendees also received printed materials and books on office administration and the use of Kazakh terminology.

KIO Public Relations & Communications Specialist Zhanna Dyusenbina said "Support for the Kazakh language is a priority for KIO and that is why the company was pleased to contribute to such an important educational event".

KIO has been actively implementing a policy aimed at increasing the role of the Kazakh language within the company and its operations. Last year, the company helped to organise a similar seminar for the mass media in Western Kazakhstan. KIO also sponsored the printing of books for children in the Kazakh language that were later presented to infant organisations troughout Western Kazakhstan.

In addition, KIO is organising intensive Kazakh language training courses for its employees and these are in great demand.
