NEW SCHOOL COMPLETES KIO SOCIAL PROJECTS IN ATYRAU OBLAST, 24.01.2003

AKSAI, Western Kazakhstan oblast, January 24, 2003 -- At the end of December 2002, Karachaganak Integrated Organisation (KIO) completed a number of social projects in Atyrau oblast. KIO invested 2,9 million dollars in 7 social projects in the oblast. The largest project was the construction of high school for 200 students at the village of Inderbor (Inderskiy district, Atyrau oblast). The opening ceremony for the new school was held at the end of December of last year. KIO invested 1,3 million dollars for the construction of the new facility.

At the opening ceremony, Nurzhan Kamalov, Manager of Uralsk Office of KIO, read a letter of congratulation from John Morrow, the General director of the Karachaganak project. On behalf of the parent companies of Karachaganak Integrated Organisation – BG Group, ChevronTexaco, ENI, and LUKOIL, as well as KIO employees and himself, Mr Morrow congratulated the residents of Inderbor on the opening of the new school. He added that KIO was proud of its contribution to the social and education system of the region.

Addressing the pupils of the new school, John Morrow said:" We at KIO strongly believe in the great future of Kazakhstan, and we also believe that the future of this country is in your hands".
