A GIFT FOR REPUBLIC'S DAY, 24.10.2002

AKSAI, Western Kazakhstan oblast, 24 October 2002 -- On the eve of the Republic's Day the citizens of Aksai received a possibility to admire the fine arts - on October 20-29 an art exhibition "

The Universe as Viewed by Soul" is taking place in Aksai museum. "The Universe as Viewed by Soul" is a joint initiative of Karachaganak Integrated Organisation (KIO) and non-government organisation "League".

There are over 90 art works of famous and young artists of Western Kazakhstan being showcased at the exhibition. The exhibited art styles and techniques are quite wide in range - from paintings and batic to crafts and beadwork.

The works of recognised artists of Western Kazakhstan Saken Gumarov and Khaidar Shabliyev are undoubtedly being the most interesting part of the exhibition.

There is a small surprise awaiting the all fine arts lovers - entrance to the art exhibition is absolutely free.

Apart from mature art admirers, a special programme is organised for school kids from Aksai and nearby villages Tungush and Berezovka.

As KIO Community Relations Specialist Zhanna Dyusenbina noted, "KIO wishes to be a good neighbor. It is a priority in KIO community programme to instil spirituality and sense of beautiful in young generation. That is why KIO is pleased to be a part in this project. Another important factor for choosing this project was that all the exhibited art works were painted by talented artists of Western Kazakhstan."
