Aksai, WKO, 11 October, 2002 -- First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aleksander Pavlov and Minister of Finance Zeynolla Kakimzhanov visited the Karachaganak field in the framework of a working visit to the Western Kazakhstan oblast.

In the course of the visit, high-ranking government officials were familiarized with the ongoing development of the Karachaganak Processing Complex (KPC) and Unit 2. The government officials also visited the mini-refinery "Condensate".

During the meeting with KIO senior management, John Morrow, KIO General Director, briefed the government delegation on Karachaganak field development activities, as well as company investments in the social infrastructure of the region and the successful implementation of the Kazakh Content / Vendor Development program.
