KPO WILL ALLOCATE $30 MILLION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN BURLIN DISTRICT DURING 2014-2016

“Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.” (KPO) announced that in accordance with the statement of the RoK Government, KPO would allocate additional $10 million dollars annually for the development of social infrastructure in Burlin district of the West Kazakhstan oblast (WKO) during 2014 - 2016 period.

Allocation of additional funding was initiated by the WKO Akimat and supported by the Ministry of Oil and Gas (now the RoK Department of Energy), as well as by an authorized organization – “PSA” LLP.

As KPO General Director, Damiano Ratti, noted, that KPO and its corporate partners in the Karachaganak project welcomed the RoK Government, which would allow local executive authorities together with KPO to solve pressing utility service and infrastructure problems in the city of Aksai and other settlements in Burlin district.

“While delivering its operation commitments, KPO aims at providing effective use of the Karachaganak field capacity in order to achieve maximum economic benefits and welfare for local communities and the region as a whole", - added Damiano Ratti.

Annually, KPO implements several major social projects in the West Kazakhstan oblast. The project list and priorities are defined by the WKO administration. The construction of healthcare, education, culture and sports, road, water and gas supply facilities is carried out in the framework of this program. Moreover, all projects are implemented with the involvement of Kazakhstani contractors only. At present, the total amount of KPO’s investment into social infrastructure development in WKO exceeded $ 270 million project

The company's efforts in the development of the region’s social infrastructure have been repeatedly recognized at the National Competition for Social Responsibility “Paryz”, where KPO has won several prestigious awards.
