AKSAI, West Kazakhstan Oblast, 6 September, 2019 – The delegation of NC KazMunaiGas headed by Alik Aidarbayev, Chief Executive Officer, has visited the Karachaganak field and held a working meeting with top management of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO).
During the meeting, Edwin Blom, KPO General Director, presented an overview of the KPO production activity and performance, plateau extension projects, local content achievements and social infrastructure projects.
Edwin Blom also shared the data on Turnaround 2019 – the biggest shutdown at the Karachaganak Field ever, which will start on 15 September, 2019.
“KPO consistently achieves good production while focusing on industrial safety, labour, environmental protection and local capacity development. As of today, KPO’s Partners have invested more than $25 billion into the development of Karachaganak field. KPO has utilised leading production and hydrocarbon processing technology to enhance hydrocarbon recovery and ensure the maximum economic return for the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Partners”, added Edwin Blom.
In his turn, Alik Aidarbayev, KazMunaiGas CEO, noted that today, Karachaganak takes a significant role in oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan. Alik Aidarbayev and other dignitaries discussed with KPO top managers such issues as production forecast for the year 2020, human resources, KPO’s contribution into social and economic development of the region, Karachaganak Expansion project (KEP1) and other issues.
At the end of the visit the guests also attended the Control Room of the Karachaganak Processing Complex (KPC) and observed the construction progress at the Karachaganak Debottlenecking Projects (KGDBN).
At the end of the visit the guests expressed their satisfaction with KPO achievements in the development of the field, and wished all KPO employees continued success in their activities.
