URALSK, West Kazakhstan Oblast, 4 January 2021 - Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) has announced the successful commissioning of the Sports and Health Centre (SHC) in Saikhin village, Bokei-Orda district, West Kazakhstan Oblast which was constructed as part of the social infrastructure development program.

The opening ceremony was attended by Akim of WKO Gali Iskaliyev, Akim of Bokey-Ordinsky district Nurlan Rakhymzhanov, management of KPO, representatives of contractors and the public.

As the Akim of WKO Gali Iskaliyev noted, the implementation of this social and investment project was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Address of the head of state, on the development of mass sports and physical culture, on increasing the number of sports facilities in the country and their effective use.

“This sports facility is a matter of special pride for the residents of Saikhin village, as it is the first separate sports facility in the village. Today, the state pays special attention to improving the well-being of remote populations. The opening of such a modern sports facility will contribute to the development of mass sports and attract rural youth to promote a healthy lifestyle,” Gali Iskaliyev said.

In addition, the head of the region expressed gratitude to the company KPO, at the expense of which the SHC was built.

Sports and Health Centre has two floors. Overall floor space of the facility is approximately 1,047 sq.m. The new SHC has multi-functional sports hall for playing soccer, volleyball, basketball, futsal and boxing as well as gym. It is also adapted for people with disabilities. All equipment which is part of the design is in line with modern standards.

In his speech Yerzhan Aubakirov KPO Social Projects Manager congratulated the Saikhin community on the opening of the new sports facility and emphasized that it was effective cooperation and good partnership relations between KPO and WKO Administration that made it possible to construct the facility.

‘We hope that this facility will become a popular health and sports destination for the entire Saikhin community,’ said Yerzhan Aubakirov.

KPO implements many large projects as part of West Kazakhstan Oblast social infrastructure development. To date, overall KPO investment into regional social infrastructure development has exceeded USA $425 MM. Healthcare, education, culture and sports facilities are constructed under this program. Only local contractors are engaged for project implementation activities.
