KPO took part in online business meeting

NUR-SULTAN, 21 May 2021 – At the initiative of the Union of Oilfield Service Companies of Kazakhstan (‘KazService’), an online business meeting was held between Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO), ‘KazService’ and interested service providers.

The event primarily dedicated to KPO’s current activities, the upcoming projects and opportunities that open up for local manufacturers and service companies.

Gabriele Giona, KPO General Director, in his opening address, noted that the purpose of the meeting was to present latest achievements and mostly to give focus on the opportunities that new projects, aimed at extending the field's production plateau, open up for local manufacturing and service companies.

According to KPO’s General Director, the company has despite all the challenges and restrictions associated with COVID, succeeded in ensuring the business continuity while preserving the existing operational capabilities and supporting local contractors in a number of different ways to ensure their business sustainability and social stability in the region. Mr. Giona also noted that localization of Goods, Works, Services in KPO has risen from 47% in 2014 to 59% in 2020.

To accelerate the goods localization, KPO has launched in the last year a number of initiatives that ranges from the contracts award for goods localization and local machineries, roadmap signature with OEMs, amendment of tender procedures and establishment of an international centre for the development of equipment and materials (IMBC).

Also, during the meeting, KPO representatives answered some questions from the audience regarding KPO’s future activities and projects.

All attendees have recognized the importance of such meetings as for the exchange of views and discussion of topical issues, and map up opportunities for cooperation between major operators and local oil service companies.
