KPO put into operation sports and health centre in Zhalpaktal village in WKO

URALSK, West Kazakhstan Oblast, 3 July 2021 - Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) announced the successful commissioning of the Sports and Health Centre (SHC) in Zhalpaktal village in Kaztalovskiy district of WKO which was constructed as part of KPO’s social infrastructure development programme.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by akim of WKO Gali Iskaliyev, akim of Kaztalovskiy district Albert Yesaliyev, KPO management, representatives of contractors and the public.

 

As WKO Akim, Gali Iskaliyev, said, the implementation of this social and investment project was carried out as per instructions of the RoK President on development of mass sports and physical culture and increasing of number of sports facilities in the country and their effective use.

 

“This sports facility is a matter of special pride for the residents of Zhalpaktal village, as it is the first separate sports facility in the village.  I think it will help improve the health of the young generation and will give an impetus to the upbringing of many future champions like Daniyar Yeleussinov and Nurbol Serikov in the walls of the sport centre”, said Gali Iskaliyev.

 

“We are pleased to see the opening of such a centre. Our youngsters and older generation will be able to play football in winter or to do gym workouts.  This is a big celebration for us”, said a resident of Zhalpaktal village.

 

KPO Social Projects Manager, Yerzhan Aubakirov, said that effective cooperation and good partnership relations between KPO and WKO Administration made it possible to construct the facility.

 

“I am pleased to see that this complex is so modern and beautiful.  I wish coach staff and young athletes every success and great wins and wish prosperity to all Zhalpaktal community, added Yerzhan Aubakirov.

 

KPO actively cooperates with local suppliers and contractors, purchasing their goods and services and demonstrating an example of conducting a business in socially responsible way.  Over the years of KPO’s operation in the region, hundreds of kilometers of new roads have been built and a number of new schools, hospitals, culture and sport facilities have been constructed and repaired.  To date, KPO’s overall investment into development of regional social infrastructure has exceeded $433 million.
