Aksai, West Kazakhstan Oblast, 24 of August 2021 - Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) held an introductory online workshop regarding Karachaganak Expansion Project Stage-1A (5 Gas Injection Compressor GIC) for representatives of WKO industrial enterprises.
Main objective of the event was to familiarize local goods producers with possibilities of participating in this project through supply of goods, works and services.
The workshop was held in close cooperation with West Kazakhstan Oblast Akimat and the contractor for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of Karachaganak Expansion Project Stage-1A (5 Gas Injection Compressor).
Within framework of the workshop, individual meetings were held between EPC contractor and WKO companies. In addition, a visit to WKO enterprises was organized in order to get acquainted with their production potential.
Participants of the workshop were provided with information about upcoming works on construction of 5GIC Project facilities, which can be potentially developed by Kazakhstan enterprises.
During workshop, representatives of local enterprises received answers to questions about planned purchases and orders for works and services for the project. In addition, participants of workshop were provided with detailed information regarding the procedure for qualification of suppliers and tender requirements of EPC contractor.
As participants of the event noted, thanks to the workshop, they got a more complete understanding about the requirements imposed by KPO and contractors for supply of goods, works and services for Karachaganak Expansion Project Stage-1A, which increased the potential opportunities for their participation in this project.
KPO is one of the first companies in Kazakhstan to successfully implement the Local Content Development Programme. To date, Local Content share in KPO contracts for procurement of goods, works and services exceeded 72 per cent or more than $296 million in monetary terms.
