NUR-SULTAN, Republic of Kazakhstan, 22 September 2021 – Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) took part in the IX Forum of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan.
The main purpose of the Forum - to discuss topical issues of the machine-building industry, including the implementation of the roadmap for machinery industry development.
In order to raise awareness of local vendors, KPO, as part of this Forum, held a workshop on the topic “How to become a KPO supplier?”, where the Company’s representatives presented KPO requirements for procurement process, ranging from issues related to the initial steps for registration in the Vendor Database to the tender process and contract award based on tender outcomes.
According to Svetlana Barten, KPO Contracts and Procurement Manager, “KPO treats commitments on local capacity building as an integral part of its production activities”.
Currently, over 5,515 Kazakhstani vendors are registered in KPO database. Based on the H1 2021 results, the local content share in KPO contracts for provision of Goods, Works and Services exceeded 72% or more than $296M in monetary terms.
