URALSK, West-Kazakhstan Oblast, 13 December, 2021 — On the eve of the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B. V. (KPO) has announced a successful completion of two Sports and Health Centres in Zhanibek and Chingirlau villages in West Kazakhstan Oblast.
The opening ceremonies were attended by Gali Iskaliyev, WKO Akim, KPO senior management, representatives of contractors and the general public.
The total cost of the Sports and Health Centres amounted to nearly $ 2.7 million. The construction was implemented as part of the KPO’s social infrastructure development programme.
As the Akim of WKO Gali Iskaliyev noted, the implementation of this social and investment projects was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Order of the President of state on the development of mass sports and physical culture and increasing of number of sports facilities in the country and their effective use.
The Sports and Health Centres have been built up as two-storied buildings, with total areas of 1,275 m2 and 2,534 m2 correspondingly. Premises for team sports are located on the ground floors and areas for wrestling training and stands for spectators are located on the first floors of the centres. The facilities are fully equipped with state-of-the-art sports equipment.
Addressing the residents of the Chingirlau village Yerzhan Abylkhanov, KPO Local Business Controller, said: «The successful completion of these Sports Centres demonstrates KPO commitment to supporting the WKO long-term development plans».
«The Sports and Health Centre in Chingirlau village is the facility that has been constructed by KPO as per instructions from the Head of State. As known, the RoK President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his 2020 Addresse appealed for development of mass sports and physical culture and instructed to establish children’s sports sections in each region and large district centres. It is quite symbolical that the opening ceremonies have coincided with the 30th Anniversary of the RoK Independence. I hope that young athletes who will be trained here will eventually become winners of prestigious sports contests», said Yerzhan Abylkhanov.
