The key priorities of «Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.», operating at one of the largest oil and gas fields in the country, include the implementation of social and infrastructure projects. The Consortium is steadily fulfilling its obligations under the Final Production Sharing Agreement.

KPO has been making a significant contribution to the social development of the West Kazakhstan Oblast since 1998. The list of social and infrastructure projects is agreed on an annual basis between KPO and the Akimat of the West Kazakhstan Oblast, in accordance with the priorities of the social development of the region. In 2023, it is planned to implement more than 20 projects in the West Kazakhstan Oblast, including the construction of 15 schools in all districts of the Oblast. Construction contracts have been signed for all projects of small-scale schools, preparatory and mobilization work has begun, geodetic breakdown and siting of school buildings are being carried out. The implemented social projects for the construction of small-scale secondary schools in the West Kazakhstan Oblast are designed for 60 and 108 pupils.

KPO’s participation in the social development of our region is a strong and clear example of high business responsibility. It remains to add that today the total investment of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. in the social projects of the region amounts more than $753 million, within which 227 projects were implemented. In 2021-2022 alone, the Company successfully completed ten projects, for the implementation of which more than $51 million was invested.
