AKSAI, West Kazakhstan Oblast, 09 March 2023 — Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the first leg of his working trip to the West Kazakhstan Oblast has visited the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field and familiarized with the operations of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO).
On his trip, the RoK President was accompanied by Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister, Magzum Myrzagaliev, KMG Chairman and Nariman Turegaliyev, Akim of the West Kazakhstan Oblast.
As part of the visit, the VVIP’s were introduced to Karachaganak Processing Complex and the progress of the ongoing development projects aimed at extending the liquids production plateau. Giancarlo Ruiu, KPO General Director presented the Head of the State with the company’s performance highlights and shared about the Venture’s contribution to social and economic development of the region. «KPO has been consistently delivering on production targets while focusing on health, safety and environment protection. Support of Kazakhstani manufacturers in building their capacity is also among our key priorities», — said Giancarlo Ruiu during the meeting.
He also briefed the President about the prospects of building a Gas Plant at Karachaganak with a capacity to produce sweet gas and LPG. Concerning this, the Head of State stressed the importance of the initiative and assured maximum support.
Concluding the visit, the RoK President appreciated KPO’s performance and wished its team the further success in developing the Karachaganak Field.

Over the past quarter of a century, Karachaganak has become a flagship of the country’s oil and gas industry and the driver of socio-economic progress in the West Kazakhstan Oblast.
