KPO completes Visit Centre construction in Uralsk

URALSK, West Kazakhstan Oblast, 16 October 2023 — Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B. V. (KPO) has announced successful completion of construction of a unique Visit Centre named «Khan Ordasy» which was implemented as part of social and infrastructure projects in the region.

Nariman Turegaliyev, West Kazakhstan Oblast (WKO) Akim, KPO senior management, representatives of contractor companies and local public persons took part in the official opening ceremony.

The WKO Akim after an on-site tour of the Visit Centre declared that it was ready to host visitors. He also extended his warm wishes of success to the Centre team in their work for the benefit of the region.

KPO Social Projects Manager, Kairat Bimaganbetov congratulating the community of Khan Ordasy on the opening of such an important social venue, said: «The successful commissioning of this unique venue once more corroborates the adherence of KPO to the long-term development plans in West Kazakhstan Oblast».

«We hope that the completion of this project will serve as an incentive for the development of local regional tourism. Such centres will help to witness unique sightseeing attractions of West Kazakhstan Oblast not only to people from the Trans-Ural area, but also to travellers from all over the world,» he stated.

«Khan Ordasy» Visit Centre is a new modern complex including an exposition hall, a conference room, a library, an office, and a canteen.

This project has been included into the TOP-50 on the regional tourism development map making part of the State Tourism Development and Historical-Cultural Heritage Preservation Programme of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Recently KPO has successfully commissioned two Sports and Health Centres, one of them in Chapayevo Village, Akzhaiyk District, WKO, with 320 seating capacity and the other one in Taipak Village, Akzhaiyk District, WKO, with 160 seating capacity.

It should be noted that the construction of these facilities is implemented as part of the national programme envisaging construction of 100 Sports and Health Centres throughout regions of Kazakhstan for mass sports development in rural areas.

Evidently, every village should have a fully functional school for good-quality and comprehensive education, upbringing and development of children. This year schools in Poima (for 108 pupils) and Zhalyn (for 54 pupils) villages have been officially opened with KPO support. Residents of these villages had been waiting for the new schools to open for several years. By the way, the construction of small-capacity schools also makes part of the state programme on elimination of three-shift and emergency-condition schools in the WKO districts.

Karachaganak today is playing a significant role in the social, economic and cultural development of West Kazakhstan Oblast. The list and hierarchy of the KPO social projects are identified with the West Kazakhstan Oblast Akimat. Moreover, their implementation is carried out by Kazakhstani contractors exclusively. KPO has been active in co-operation with local companies, purchasing their goods and services, which in itself is an example of a socially responsible business.
