Uralsk, West Kazakhstan Oblast, December 14, 2023 — On the eve of the celebration of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) announced the successful completion of several significant social projects in the West Kazakhstan Oblast.
In particular, KPO completed the construction of new small-sized schools in the village of Abai (for 108 students), the village of Ulken-Engbek (for 60 students) in the Terektinsky district, and in the village of Zhaiyk (for 108 students) in the Bayterek district, West Kazakhstan Oblast.
The opening ceremony of these facilities was attended by the leadership of the West Kazakhstan Oblast, headed by the akim of the region Nariman Turegaliev, the leadership of KPO and contractors, as well as representatives of the public of Uralsk.
As noted by the KPO General Director, Giancarlo Ruiu, the implementation of these social projects became possible due to the close collaboration and partnership between KPO and the leadership of the West Kazakhstan Oblast.
«We are particularly pleased that the commissioning of these significant social facilities took place on the eve of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Thanks to KPO’s investments in the region, new schools, hospitals, sports facilities are being built, and repairs to existing and the construction of new roads are underway. All this will undoubtedly contribute to the further development of the West Kazakhstan Region for the benefit of its residents and the entire country as a whole,» added Giancarlo Ruiu.
The new schools meet all modern requirements, providing maximum comfort for learning. The educational institutions are fully equipped with all necessary facilities. In addition to classrooms, each school has an assembly hall, a sports hall with separate showers and toilets, a modern cafeteria, and administrative offices.
Annually, with the participation of the international consortium KPO, a large number of social infrastructure projects are implemented in the West Kazakhstan Oblast. The list of projects is coordinated on an annual basis between KPO and the West Kazakhstan Oblast akimat in accordance with the priorities of the region’s social development. The akimat selects projects taking into account the needs of developing the infrastructure of the Oblast, as well as the education, healthcare, culture, and sports systems in the region. All projects are implemented with the involvement of only Kazakhstani contractors.
