Uralsk, West Kazakhstan Oblast, December 29, 2023 — «Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.» company (KPO) has announced the successful completion of several significant social projects in the West Kazakhstan Oblast.

As part of a systemic project to cover rural population by modern secondary education implemented jointly with the WKO Akimat, KPO has completed construction of eight new schools in the village of Magistralnoye in the Terektinsky district, the villages of Atameken and Zhaiyk in the Akzhaiyk district, Urken and Sadovoye in the Bayterek district, Aqoba in the Zhanibek district, Khankol and Sonaly in the Karatobinskiy district, West Kazakhstan Oblast.

The opening ceremony of these facilities was attended by the leadership of the West Kazakhstan Oblast, headed by the Akim of the region Nariman Turegaliev, the leadership of KPO and contractors, as well as representatives of the public of the districts.

As Giancarlo Ruiu, KPO General Director, noted earlier, it is with particular satisfaction that we complete construction of the modern schools intended to provide good quality education to children and aiming to replace schools in the emergency condition and get rid of the three-shift education schedule in the WKO districts.

«Participation in development of the WKO social infrastructure is an outstanding example of KPO’s social responsibility. Our fruitful co-operation with local executive authorities promotes efficient use of the Karachaganak’s potentialities in favour of all residents of the region,» — he added.

The new schools meet all modern requirements, and maximum comfort for learning has been created in these schools. The educational institutions are fully equipped with all necessary facilities and classrooms, including an assembly hall, classes, a sports hall with separate showers and toilets, a modern cafeteria, and administrative offices. The schools are fully furnished with modern educational equipment and are commissioned in a «turnkey» condition.

24 projects were implemented this year in accordance with the regional social development priorities, including construction of 15 schools in the WKO districts, Sports and Health Centres (SHC) etc. Moreover, today implementation of 18 projects completed, including 13 schools in the WKO districts, 2 SHC, a visitor centre «Khan-Ordasy», road repair on Sholokhov Str., as well as delivery of medical equipment to the Central District Hospital in Aksai.
