Uralsk, June 24, 2024 — Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) held an online technical workshop aimed at enhancing the knowledge of local businesses about future operational needs and technical requirements in the chemical commodity group.
Mukhtar Mankeyev, KPO Vice General Director, in his welcoming speech, noted that this initiative is the beginning of a series of KPO workshops that are aimed to familiarize local manufacturers with KPO’s existing and future demands in the chemical group, introduce them to KPO’s technical requirements and standards, and encourage the establishment of new production facilities within Kazakhstan.
Representatives of more than 30 local manufacturers and those who is planning to establish production facilities in Kazakhstan attended the workshop. KPO representatives introduced KPO technical requirements and standards for chemical products, as well as briefed the workshop participants on existing and future demands and about for various chemicals and provide insights into KPO’s procurement process and local suppliers support mechanisms.
The workshop aims to increase awareness and understanding among Kazakhstani companies about the current and future operating needs of the Karachaganak Project in the specified chemicals. KPO seeks to develop ways to enhance localization, either fully or partially, and improve current arrangements to meet the forthcoming needs. Feedback from manufacturers will be crucial in shaping a strategy that reflects real market interest and potential.
