KPO announces the Official Start-up of the Karachaganak Expansion Project Phase 1A

AKSAI, West Kazakhstan Oblast, September 6th, 2024 — Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) proudly announces the official Start-up of the Karachaganak Expansion Project Phase 1A (KEP-1A). KEP-1A Project is the latest in a series of major projects successfully delivered by KPO to manage increasing gas-oil-ratio and maintain the field’s liquid production plateau. The successful completion of the KEP-1A, which includes the construction of the 5th Gas Injection Compressor, marks the beginning of a new page in the history of Karachaganak and demonstrates KPO’s capability to carry out world-class projects of any complexity.

 

The official start-up ceremony was attended by WKO Akim N. Turegaliyev, Vice Minister of Energy A. Zhamauov, KMG Deputy Chairman R. Balykbayev, PSA General Director B. Izbastin, and representatives of the Karachaganak Partner Companies.

 

During the visit, the guests were introduced to the operation of the newly commissioned facilities and technological innovations implemented as part of the project.
