Safety

Health, safety and asset integrity are critical success factors in developing and operating any oil, gas and condensate field. As a socially responsible company, KPO is fully committed to maintaining effective HSE culture. Every employee of KPO and contracting organisations must return home safely and there must be no leaks in our facilities.

All oil and gas operations carry inherent safety risks: at Karachaganak, this challenge is compounded by extreme temperature fluctuations, the high hydrogen sulphide content in the hydrocarbons we produce and process, and high-pressure sour gas injection.

Good health and safety of the KPO employees is a critical part and focus of its business. We have achieved ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 50001:2018 (Energy Management) certifications and work towards maintaining them. Continual improvement and commitment is KPO’s priority in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce.

Each year KPO undertakes a range of HSE programmes, training, initiatives and campaigns. These include but are not limited to HSE inductions, job specific HSE training, and various other HSE programmes, such as Safety Leadership and Culture Programme, HSE Card, HSE Award Incentive Scheme, Health Risk Assessment, Environmental Culture and Awareness Enhancement Programme, and other.
